BecomeOne started when our founders saw teen suicides rising in our own community and one mother lost her son. Her heartbreak, and the fear that others would face the same pain, moved us to act. We created a local space where people could remember, talk honestly, and begin to heal together.
We believe crisis-only responses are not enough. Our 360 degree approach focuses on daily habits, relationships, and the stories teens tell themselves. Through workshops, family connection work, and community events, we equip young people to reject suicide and practice skills that support long term mental wellness.
Connection and creativity sit at the heart of our work. The One More Light Walk, the I AM Gallery, and projects like It's Valid give space for art, memory, and honest conversation. These shared experiences remind each person that their story matters and that hope can keep growing in community.
Our mission is to empower youth through innovative mental wellness programs that focus on practical tools and stigma-free support. We aim to provide comprehensive solutions to combat rising suicide rates, emphasizing prevention, education, and strong community connections across Virginia and surrounding areas.
